How To Make: FIRE CIDER

Recipe for Fire Cider

Fire Cider is an herbal tonic that is great for boosting immunity and metabolism. It is easy to make at home and has a delicious, spicy flavor. Here is a simple recipe that you can follow:

 

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup dried herbs
  • 1 cup grated ginger
  • 1 cup grated turmeric
  • 6 cloves of garlic, peeled
  • 1 onion, peeled and quartered
  • 1 Chilli
  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar (or to fill to top of jar)

 

Instructions:

  1. Place all the ingredients into a large glass jar and mix until combined.
  2. Top with the apple cider vinegar and stir until everything is submerged.
  3. Place the lid on the jar and store in a cool, dark place for 2-4 weeks, shaking the jar every few days.
  4. After the 2-4 weeks, strain out the solids and store the liquid in a clean bottle or jar.
  5. Enjoy your homemade fire cider! Take One tablespoon a day.
  6. You can adjust the recipe to suit what you have on hand which is what makes Fire Cider so great. Adding dried herbs in also helps with immune boosting and taste. We used lemon verbena, rosemary, oregano and sage in this one.
