At Meadowsweet Farmhouse, our garments are designed and manufactured to Australian standard sizing. However, as each style has its own unique cut and fit, we always recommend referring to the specific measurements provided for each piece.
How We Measure:
All garments are measured laid flat and relaxed. For chest, waist, and hip measurements, be sure to double the listed number to get the full circumference. We may also provide fit recommendations such as “best for” or “best up to” to help you choose the most comfortable fit.
To find your best size, we suggest comparing our measurements to a similar garment you already own. Simply lay it flat on a surface and use a clothing tape measure to check the key dimensions.
Common Measurements We Take:
• Length: Top of the garment to hem
• Waist: Across the waistline, (double what we provide for the whole circumference)
• Chest: Armpit to armpit (for relaxed knits, noted as “across chest (relaxed)”)
• Bodice (Dresses): Top of the garment to waist seam
• Shoulders: Shoulder seam to shoulder seam
• Sleeves: Shoulder seam to sleeve hem
• Hips: Measured approximately 15cm below the natural waistline
While our sizing is consistent with Australian standards, some styles may have a more structured, tailored, or relaxed fit. On occasion, we may recommend sizing up or down for the best comfort.
